Civil Rights unit reflection

“Why are silence and indifference to the suffering of the others never acceptable?”
At the start of the unit, our teacher asked us that question and I didn’t know why; now I do.
There were many surprising things in the Civil Rights Movement, and one of them was that many people were willing to risk their lives just to get equal rights and just so they wouldn’t be inferior.
There were many bold people in the Civil Rights Movement, and an example of one was Martin Luther King, Jr., who inspired me to have grit, and hope.
While learning about the Civil Rights Movement I discovered and learned many new vocabulary words such as: Grit, determined, boycott, and nonviolent.

We also watched a movie called “42”, a movie about Jackie Robinson, the first black baseball player to play in the MLB with white people. I learned that the thing that will make you strong wouldn’t be that you can fight back, but that you have the guts NOT to fight back.

Second quarter Reflections

These are my reflections on quarter 2:
Ell Humanities was easy in some parts and hard in other parts.
I liked reading the book about Iqbal and doing the interview about him, but the spelling tests were too challenging for me.
All of my tests’ grades were from A+ to B (most of them were A+ ;3), and most of the times I got an A+ were the homework, but on some of the tests… well…… yeah.
I think that most of the time I do my homework with effort.  Most of the times I work hard on the assignments, listen carefully in class and ask questions when I don’t understand. About conduct, Most of the time I am meeting expectations, but sometimes I “explode” when I’m angry or upset on something/someone and I still need to work on that.

I am very happy that my comment was mostly positive, and I will continue working on my capitals and punctuation. I’m pleased with my grade but I will still try to make it better this quarter, that’s for sure!

Research Post

The global issue that interests me the most is the issue of clean water, when there is not enough clean water. I want to do the research about clean water because I think that lack of clean water can cause a lot of diseases and lot of people can die, especially in poor countries.

My questions are:1. How does clean water affects the number of sick people in the country?
                            2. How can we solve that problem?
                            3. Why poor countries don’t have clean water?

I don’t know a lot of things about making researches and I didn’t do a lot of them, just this year during science when we needed to do a lab report. The number of resources I need to use is 1-3. Since this is one of my first researches, I feel a little bit nervous about doing this research, but I also know that if I need help, my parents and my teacher will help me.

Geography Brochure

My brochure is about Australia and I learned more about Australia and its landforms.
It was easy to make and I really enjoyed making it because when your searching for information, you are learning more about the landforms and how to research information.
This is my brochure:

Being a Digital Citizen

What kind of digital citizen am I?
I use my computer, my phone, and my laptop to connect every day.
I use the internet to watch movies, play games, look up words, search information on sites and to use social sites like Facebook. The rules I need to remember when I post to social media are:  1. I can't bully people. 2. I make sure its appropriate language.
Before I click on a site or post a comment I check if its appropriate.
Im a digital citizen. Are you a digital citizen too?

Personal Narrative

My favorite Moment In The Summer
In the begging of the summer my cosines actually came to Israel. Later, when they came to my home we played fun games for example:  we played “Twister” and I won!
Later on, we went to the pool and had so much fun! We with a raft and accidentally sunk it! Few weeks later we went to their birthday party and ate delicious pizza. Meanwhile, there was a slide a very funny slide show and we laughed a LOT. We had a lot of exciting experience together. Eventually we had to say goodbye to each other, but this is going to be one small moment I will never forget.
